Analysis: case, Q3a
Filter: Q3a ok
case Most needs improving - Other  Road Maintenance  Traffic Issues   Town Clean Up  Community Facilities  Other
9 Dog fouling fines
28 Cars obstructing pavements
41 silsden needs a vellage/town center with shops to attrect people, to attract new bussnesses
53 Sewage system
69 upgrading the health centre.  Racism should be stamped out before it becomes even worse.
136 Improved & safe access to railway station for pedestrians & cyclists
148 A safe way for pedestrians to cross the Aire Valley road to reach the Steeton & Silsden Railway Station. I cross regularly and consider it extremely risky. I fear for the death of a young or old person.
184 The absolutely terrible problem with DOG DIRT
189 Dog fouling. Silsden is horrendous its everywhere!!!
199 Amount of dog fouling - this is now a public health issue
200 making land available for allotments
206 Silsden Park need improving
214 stopping dogs from fouling the streets and the riverbanks
245 Sorry to go on but dog poo again!
247 Speed of traffic
262 Drains as mentioned on page one
264 The town has great facilities for children to play, yet they need cleaning, recently there was a used condom and evidence of drug taking (homemade bongs, discarded silver foil) in the gated children's area not forgetting all the dog poo
288 There is a serious litter & dog dirt problem in Silsden especially around the beck area, the canal paths both ways, Hainsworth road, Brunthwaite bridge Lane,  Brownbank Lane.
296 Recruitment drive to mix able - disable - old - young people in group activities.
334 Public Toilets!!!
344 Keeping Tesco's away from the town
356 Roads and Pavements
367 The park isn't very accessible for all of the kids in silsden to play in.  The main road cuts the town in two and is too dangerous to let kids out on their own.   Also, there should be better connectivity with the Railway station.  There needs to be a footbridge across the dual carriageway before somebody is knocked down and killed.
369 Bus to Skipton
374 Another cheaper supermarket
381 There needs to be a safer route from the station into town
382 parking facilities limited at silsden steeton station.
404 dog poo
409 A Swiss/German-style time-coordinated train/bus service to serve ALL arrival and departures of trains to and from Leeds and Bradford.  This to include the cancellation of buses to places where the local trains run, thus providing the extra buses to properly provide for the extra station shuttle services.
410 parking facilities /
415 we need safer access to train station
423 Refurb of Silsden Health Centre  Keep Fire Station open
430 Is it possible to pass a Bye Law requiring property owners to keep their own frontage clean and tidy? This would help a lot. The backs of some streets are almost like lawns with grass and weeds.
439 Ladies toilets in Town Hall need to be downstairs also, steps are a problem.
449 Repair and maintenance of pavements.
452 Control and clean-up of dog fouling.
467 A 'reason' needs to be made for people to visit Silsden and spend money in the town. The memorial garden is a great start. Pride needs to be increased.
472 Not too clear what facilities/activities are available for older people - plenty are advertised for children and young people though.
497 Do not allow near us a supermarket whatever they promise it will kill off the local shops.
536 Activities for middle aged people.
540 The disused mill on the left hand side as you come into Silsden lends use to a leisure complex, there is ample parking and it is close to the cricket/football ground, this would create employment opportunities for local people, assist with off road parking for the cricket/football ground and also provide local people - adults and children with somewhere to go to keep fit/healthy without having to travel to Keighley.
555 Dog fouling is a particular problem, all around the town.
556 Dog fouling.
574 The state of road surfaces and pavements.
588 Closing that eyesore of a skip yard belonging to the Mayor of Silsden and move it to an industrial area outside town would be a step in the right direction.
600 Failure to stop at zebra crossing.
613 Takeaways should be less (eyesore in Main Street).
628 Traffic speed.
629 In my opinion all of the advertisement hoarding etc. on the approach to Silsden should be banned it looks awful. A general community cleanup would be good.
667 Schools need expanding to meet new housing.
681 It is a miracle that nobody has been killed crossing the bypass to get to the railway station.
686 Reducing the number of takeaway shops and their associated signage on the village main street.
719 Dog fouling.
724 Clearing up dog litter and fining culprits.
730 CCTV put into use. Dog wardens to stop dumping.
734 Parking down Silsden needs stopping. We have too many big wagons and buses pass though its not safe and no where for traffic in other direction to go. Also parking at the bottom of Banklands.
737 Mini roundabout needed at bottom of Howden Road and Bell Square.
747 Recruitment drive to mix able, disabled, old and young people in group activities.
757 The town hall needs to be refurbished and given a more central role in the village. The library could be relocated and an information (tourist) board/desk be installed.
758 Dog poo - major problem. Parking on pavements needs to be stopped. People burning rubbish is becoming an issue.
760 Dog dirt. Drugs in children playing areas.
765 High level of dog excrement on pavements and public areas in Silsden which is detrimental to health and the environment.
766 Special attention should be given to the duck pond area. It is in the centre of the village and needs to be kept in pristine condition especially the vegetation on the overflow ramp.
767 Footbridge.
770 Get some decent people on the council please who live in the real world I have lived here 47 years and do not know any councillors except a bandit and gangster called Atkinson who is useless.
772 Public amenities - those we have are probably the worse I've ever encountered. What visitors must think.
782 A community building with stage facilities is much needed. The ideal place being the town hall which badly needs improvements in many areas - disabled access and toilets a case in point. The erection of a stage with changing rooms off would give a focal point for community productions of many kinds.
790 The park really needs more supervision. There is broken glass whenever I take my granddaughter there. There could also be a more child friendly equipment, picnic benches and a few attractive flower beds to sit and contemplate on a nice day.
822 Traffic down Hothfield site. Parking outside of the school.
827 We feel quite satisfied with all the above facilities.
834 Also clean up all lanes and roads around Silsden. Litter is unsightly.
836 Dog waste bins.
840 Park play area is trashed every Friday and Saturday night - litter/drugs, Regular problem not addressed by police. Left to park rangers who never get off motorcycles. Waste of money clearing up damage. Covered in dog mess.
878 Road maintenance.
879 Stop heavy traffic e.g. large lorries passing through our small town.
882 New health centre.
913  Dog waste fee.
925 The state of the Beck is terrible and could be improved and made a local point of Silsden.
926  Canal towpaths need to be hard cored to allow the disabled, mums and prams, wheelchairs access, at the moment or during the wet seasons it is dangerously muddy, roads using swing bridges, traffic should have to stop before crossing towpath onto swing bridge.
936 To me making Silsden attractive for tourists would be a benefit with the canal and countryside. But Silsden has to look the part of a tourist centre. The recent environmental assessment raises questions for us.
945 Hard surface along the canal for winter walking.
974 If Silsden is to grown I.e. housing etc. should we not have a functioning police station? As we are sadly neglected I.e. nowhere to get help fast.
978 Dog fouling is a huge problem. Footpaths are full of litter.
979 Would like to see covered bins for dog litter. Ings Way is disgusting and the open rubbish bin on Howden Road when used smell very badly in warm weather.
982 The cycling agenda isn't even a problem in Silsden. We could maybe do with more police walking the streets to deter gangs congregating.
988 Allotment provision. Performance space.
1002 Dog waste bins.
1028 New bypass.
1056 Too many unadopted roads for the rates we pay.
1089 To have lights at the crossings down main street as traffic comes through Silsden too fast.
1093 Dog waste bins to be widely available - there is only 1 that I know of and this is NOT provided by the council. Community warden should stop people with dogs to check they have 'poo' bags.
1095 The lack of variety of local businesses along the main through route. Fine if you want a curry after a hairdo!
1098 Lake fishing on reservoir for public , a ticket, could pay for safe spots and stocking of fish, and possible hire of boats. Down south it happens a lot and could be a site for a caravan park without causing inconvenience to local residents! Making it a tourist attraction! Bringing money into Silsden! At the moment the only thing which fishes are herons! Or very privileged humans.
1099 Need more dog bins up top of Silsden Road.
1101 More.
