i use to have a shop in the
village, i believe very strongly that if silsden had a market on the days
that skipton did not it would boost employment and consumer footfall in the
aria, the shop propperty s owned but the council should be only be let out to
businesses that sell products and not services(so people have shops to go
in), there should be a foot path round the park and tarmack down the canal
please (also if some one could remove the NF logo and the swash stika from
the side of the post office that would be nice its been there about 20 years)
ill help any way i can im handy with tarmacking, painting and fencing thanks a bendel sam ive

The majority of Silsden
secondary schoolchildren attend South Craven Comprehensive School thereby
generating a great deal of traffic during the rush hours.A comprehensive
traffic flow survey should be undertaken to indicate the present and future
problems with through traffic and also vehicle access from all the side roads
feeding onto Bolton Road, Kirkgate, and Keighley Road. Consider provision of
new recreatipnal areas and co-ordinated provision of both primary and
secondary schools in line with increased housing. The present Aire Valley
Trunk Sewer will not be able to deal with the proposed increase of
housing developments in Cross Hills,
Steeton, Silsden and Keighley. The culverting of surface water from the housing expansion will have a detrimental
effect on the Aire Valley Flood Plain.
How will the new Eastern By-Pass be financed? Will there be any future
development East of this by-pass? |
|
| 53 |
All aspects need to be
considered as a whole. Before any more haouses are built, problems with the
sewage system, car parking, traffic management, schools, work prospects and
green spaces need to be addressed. |

Preserving Silsden from over
building of houses when the infrastructure and finance are inadequate and
would put current residents and their property at risk. Health risks related
to copious dog excrement. Preserving and enabling local businesses to succeed. |

village is dying. |

Shopping facilities in town |
|
| 115 |
Arts provision |
|

Crime and fear of crime should
be reduced. Anti social noise and petty vandalism should be tackled. Underage

| 183 |
dog dirt |
|
| 184 |
The massive problem with DOG
DIRT and also a bridge over the bypass to help getting to the station. |
|
| 186 |
The amount of dog dirt all over
Silsden is disgusting! More effort
should be made to catch offenders and clean it up - it makes getting around
the village, particularly with children in tow, very unpleasant! |
|
| 190 |
Keeping pavements clear and
clean |
|
| 192 |
dog hygeine control |
|
| 197 |
Antisocial use of cars. The roads are being used as a race track by
some in the evening. |

Need a pelican crossing rather
than just zebra crossings. Need to ban parking on Kirkgate. |
|
| 211 |
Comprehensive recycling
facilities like Crosshills. |
|
| 216 |
Dog fouling the streets of
Silsden are disgraceful |
|
| 218 |
Dog Dirt patrol, we shouldn't
have to walk in it because of lazy dog owners. |
|
| 219 |
Limiting the weight of the HGVs
that come through the town. |
|
| 225 |
Preservation of countryside |
|
| 228 |
care for the elderly |
|
| 229 |
greater police presence |
|
| 234 |
more care and consideration for
the elderly, parking management at the football pitches on a match day. |

| 262 |
The drains (especially on Bolton
Road) need unblocking, some have been blocked for months or years and this
would ease the frequent flooding problem in the town centre |
|
| 264 |
Prosecuting people who let their
dogs foul in the park. |
|
| 266 |
Clearing footpaths of dog dirt,
especially arond the schools. Stopping
people parking on footpaths, creating a danger to prams and wheelchairs.
Making Aireview one way, going down, as New Road is one way going up. |

Repair of road and pavements on

Stop Silsden growing to such a
situation that it becomes joined with Keighley. Let's keep Silsden a
'village' and not a town. |
|

|
| 279 |
Stopping drug dealing |
|
| 293 |
Mini roundabout at the end of
Elliot Street, Kirkgate, Clogg Bridge |
|
| 296 |
Look at Silsden as a whole - not
picking bits out which are 'Vote' winners.
Silsden has great potential - commuter area. Take a look at the overall picture. The opportunity that was missed when the
new Methodist Church was planned. The
police house. Think of the overall
opportunities that were missed. Flower beds could be decorative with shrubs -
less expense. |
|
| 303 |
High street redevelopment, it is
turning into a place where the only new establishments are takeaways which
causes people to look at other places to shop/visit. |
|
| 331 |
Smarten the town up. Parts of it are a disgrace. Either upgrade the library or close it
down. The place is awful and the least
attractive library I have ever been in. |
|
| 332 |
Keeping streets clear of dog
mess, especially around the schools. |
|
| 334 |
Public Toilets! They are a
disgrace in Silsden!!!!! |
|
| 338 |
pedestrain crossing on bypass to
access railway |
|
| 342 |
Dog Fouling |
|
| 344 |
Keeping the 'village' feel to
the town. Minimising large scale housing and commercial developments on green
belt land. |
|
| 347 |
anti-social behavour |
|
| 349 |
Prosecution for dog fouling!
Restriction of heavy goods/ very large vehicles cutting through Silden. |
|
| 356 |
Fix roads and pavements |
|
| 362 |
To ensure that dog walkers pick
up their dog mess, as around many of the streets in Silsden, there is dog
mess and people do pick it up in plastic bags, but then dump then on the
pavements around Silsden, it is disgraceful. |
|
| 366 |
More bins would be a good idea
in the hope that people would clean up after dogs . |
|
| 369 |
Sports Hall |
|
| 374 |
Allowing another supermarket to
be built! As a young couple with a baby under 1 year and no transport it is
extremely expensive for us to shop in the co-op or go through to keighley to
shop! I believe the article about tesco being interested in building in
Silsden would be fantastic not only for jobs but for people with no transport
and very little money! |
|
| 378 |
not building on greenfield sites
and definitely no building on greenbelt land |
|
| 392 |
I would like to see a community
cente which offers opportunities to develop, perform / exhibit the arts. A
refurbished Town Hall with a lift would be ideal. |
|
| 401 |
Development of area along canal,
including towpath |
|
| 402 |
More visible police |
|
| 405 |
More say on local issue's like
planning for instance made by Silsden people. |
|
| 412 |
Keeping the dog poo off the
streets. |
|
| 413 |
Improvements, landscaping and
access to the canal-side and tow-path (especially Sykes Lane access). |
|
| 416 |
Silsden needs a leisure centre
the nearest is Skipton. |
|
| 421 |
theft is becoming a issue. |
|
| 423 |
Refurbishment of Silsden health
centre. keeping Fire Station open A safe place to cross over the bypass
between Silsden and Steeton, currently very dangerous and a no go for parents
with small children and prams!!!! |
|
| 426 |
Dog mess on the pavement is a
blight on Silsden, and more needs to be done to prevent it |
|
| 429 |
New school pre 11 years. |
|
| 430 |
Badly need an accessible
community centre. |
|
| 433 |
More visible police. |
|
| 435 |
Asking householders to cut back
hedges/bushes that overhang pedestrian areas and pavements - safety issue. |
|
| 438 |
Get all the cars off the road.
There is a place already for facilities for parking. |
|
| 440 |
Dog fouling. |
|
| 441 |
Diversion of heavy goods
vehicles round the village. Speed control on main road through the town
centre. |
|
| 445 |
Police force response. |
|
| 449 |
Repair and maintenance of
pavements. Health Centre inadequate for size of area. Library provision. |
|
| 456 |
Toilets are in a disgusting
state. Dog excrement is everywhere - heavy fines and cameras should be
installed. |
|
| 458 |
Although housing provision is
important, I do feel that Silsden is well served in this area. Some houses
have been for sale for a considerable time and many for let signs are also
available. |
|
| 460 |
Canal towpath - asphalt to
Howden Farm and first bridge towards Skipton. Traffic calming - 20mph between
Elliott Street and library. No parking on Kirkgate.. But free parking in
Wesley Place car park. Weight limit on vehicles. |
|
| 462 |
20mph Bolton and Skipton Road.
Traffic lights Bells Square/Howden Road/Elliott Street Also Hillcrest Avenue
(you take your life in your hands coming out). |
|
| 464 |
Allotments, better use of the
ones we have and more land made available for more allotments. |
|
| 465 |
No. |
|
| 466 |
Keeping streets free from dog
fouling - should be a high priority especially alongside Silsden beck and the
park. |
|
| 467 |
Action to stop
Travellers/Gypsies gaining access to any piece of unsecured land. And much
quicker action taken when they occupy private land. This has been an ongoing
problem in this area for many years now. |
|
| 468 |
Public toilet facilities
upgrade. |
|
| 482 |
Library. |
|
| 489 |
No parking in Silsden main
street, subsidised fare on railway restricted to Bradford Met rate payers.
Cannot park at Steeton station as everyone from Skipton parks there. |
|
| 491 |
A clean up of Silsden! It's
dirty – dog poo on pavements and rubbish everywhere. Stop Asians taking over
our town! They are everywhere especially takeaway places. |
|
| 493 |
Stopping litter louts coming
from out of town to visit 'country' and throw litter/bottles out of cars.
More bins to be provided maybe. |
|
| 494 |
Allotments – there is a
desperate need for more allotments in Silsden but the Town Council is
unwilling to purchase any land to make more available. Silsden TC needs to
look to public/charity funding to make money available. |
|
| 495 |
As a dog owner I find the amount
of dog waste embarrassing. On the spot fines carried out sporadically not
just threatened may help. |
|
| 497 |
Cannot understand why we are
still having an ongoing problem with dog dirt. You have the means of stopping
it but it never gets actioned - fines to £100. Why does it not happen? If
needs be have the community police do - out of houses patrols with cameras
and pay them for it. Do something. |
|
| 498 |
A serious lack of shopping
facilities in Silsden. Too many hairdressers, takeaway outlets and not enough
banking. |
|
| 503 |
Police station and local
policeman. |
|
| 506 |
Buses to link with trains. |
|
| 508 |
More variety of shops and far
fewer fast food outlets. |
|
| 514 |
Police station in village and
fire station. |
|
| 524 |
Keeping the pavements clear of
dog waste. |
|
| 529 |
Sort out the parking and the
resultant congestion by the Post Office. |
|
| 536 |
Dog direct - people not picking
it up. |
|
| 548 |
Too much dog fouling. |
|
| 554 |
Traffic lights at Clog
Bridge/Elliott St. Footbridge over road at station. |
|
| 555 |
Street lighting could be
massively improved around the Tufton St/Hothfield Street area. |
|
| 556 |
Dog fouling. |
|
| 563 |
|
| 567 |
Controlling/monitoring dog
owners/dogs to greatly reduce dog mess in public areas. Promotion of the
canal as a leisure facility. |
|
| 573 |
Construct a bypass around
Silsden and this will present many opportunities for Silsden and Bradford.
Many employment housing. |
|
| 574 |
The state of road surfaces and
pavements. |
|
| 578 |
Keeping parking prices low. Safe
pavements for wheelchair users and pedestrians. |
|
| 588 |
Closing that eyesore of a skip
yard belonging to the Mayor of Silsden and move it to an industrial area
outside town would be a step in the right direction. |
|
| 594 |
Repair roads that are over used
like Spencer Avenue because the council have allowed building sites the use
of this private road for years. |
|
| 596 |
We recycle many items and have
to take much of it to Keighley. We are approaching the age of not driving and
would like some system nearby to take old batteries, plugs, radios. Perhaps
refuse collectors could collect with dustbins if packaged separately? |
|
| 597 |
Stop parking on Main Street. |
|
| 598 |
Public toilet facility. |
|
| 613 |
Free transport for children to
use sporting and entertainment facilities in Bradford. We pay rates for
these, but we cant always afford to get there to use them. |
|
| 618 |
Keeping Silsden small not over
developed. |
|
| 620 |
More bridleways/off road cycling
routes. |
|
| 626 |
Stop the car parking on the main
road through the centre of the village. A footbridge over the dual carriage
way, to allow people a safe passage to the railway station. |
|
| 628 |
Traffic speed. |
|
| 629 |
Restrict traffic speed to 20 mph
through village. Restrict heavy lorries. |
|
| 663 |
Dog foul. |
|
| 667 |
Higher diversity of business in
the town centre. Too many hairdressers and estate agents. |
|
| 671 |
Making sure people that live in
Silsden can have a certain place at Aire Valley School. |
|
| 672 |
Enough school places for local
children. |
|
| 674 |
More bins, particularly more on
canal (through to Kildwick route) for litter and dog waste. |
|
| 677 |
To get out of Bradford Council.
We were far better when we had our own council. |
|
| 679 |
Stamping down on dog fouling and
dogs running around freely. Cemetery tidiness and maintenance. |
|
| 686 |
Keeping the beck and
specifically the weir tidy and free of litter. |
|
| 688 |
Keeping green sites - only
building on brown sites. |
|
| 689 |
Stop the parking along Kirkgate. |
|
| 696 |
Dog poo. |
|
| 719 |
Cleaning dog mess or fining dog
owners. |
|
| 721 |
Decent toilet facilities
especially in park. |
|
| 725 |
Slowing traffic though the town.
Also provision of allotments. If any new house-building reduces allotment
sites - more needed. |
|
| 727 |
Approval for new health centre.
An improved library. A swimming pool for adults and children would be nice. |
|
| 730 |
Down Hainsworth Road dog bags
dumped anywhere. Rubbish, fly tipping. Some young people carry on early
morning. Need to be stopped late night fun drivers. |
|
| 732 |
A comprehensive school with
indoor sports hall. |
|
| 738 |
improvement of the surface of
the canal towpath in the Silsden area. |
|
| 744 |
Encouraging people to shop and
bank locally. We don’t want to lose any more small retailers and banks. |
|
| 745 |
Silsden is a high transient
rental place - this should be maintained and long term rental encouraged thus
creating a sense of community. Landlords should be responsible and made to
keep their properties in good order also couldn’t care less tenants be monitored. |
|
| 746 |
No. |
|
| 747 |
Look at Silsden as a whole not
picking bits out which are vote winners. Silsden has great potential-commuter
area. Take a look at the overall picture. The opportunity that was missed
when the new Methodist church was planned and the police house think of the
overall opportunities that were missed. flower beds could be decretive with
shrubs - less expensive. |
|
| 750 |
Traffic calming measures in
Skipton Road as cars regularly speed up and down at early morning and evening
(tea time). |
|
| 751 |
Dog waste bins on marked
walkways and in the town. |
|
| 752 |
Having more police presence in
Silsden. |
|
| 754 |
Providing more allotments. |
|
| 756 |
Because of the amount of people
who do not clear up after their dogs we should have a 24 hour dog warden who
fines people on the spot. This comes from a dog owner who picks up and is
sick and tired of those who do not. Also dog bins please. |
|
| 757 |
Yes, the provision of
allotments. I have an allotment but am aware I am one of the lucky few. There
should be additional allotments made available to help reduce the large
waiting list. Our villages e.g. Addingham have done this. It’s a way of
looking after Silsden residents. |
|
| 760 |
Dog dirt. Drugs in children
playing areas. No more houses, doctors and schools cant cope. |
|
| 764 |
The biggest base of contention
not only for me but for many pedestrians is how to control dog owners, dogs
from fouling on pavements - pavements always littered with piles of even
worse - excrement in a number of smaller heaps across the pavements. It is
difficult (maybe impossible) to control but animal excrement can cause
illness especially in children. |
|
| 767 |
Footbridge over the dual
carriageway at the roundabout. |
|
| 769 |
Improvements and access to the
canal side and towpath especially Sykes Lane access. |
|
| 770 |
Yes, another supermarket to
limit expensive travel to either Skipton or Keighley. Also a return to Craven
District Council as it used to be. 3 miles further north is North Yorks. We
are 20 miles from Bradford and in a country rural area not an urban city. |
|
| 775 |
Action against fly tipping.
Provision of more allotments - desperate need. Good neighbours schemes. |
|
| 777 |
Safe cycle route at roundabout
near the station. |
|
| 778 |
Shops that don’t sell alcohol
late at night. It’s a magnet for young people who then flock to the green or
the park. |
|
| 779 |
Antisocial behaviour round the
memorial gardens, car park and bus stop at night. The park being used as a
dogs toilet should be prohibited as games are played there. |
|
| 783 |
Special needs education and
employment e.g. café or coffee shop. |
|
| 784 |
Traffic hold ups at end of
Elliott Street - lights or a roundabout. |
|
| 787 |
Silsden required an improved
town hall, the old town hall is adequate for the purpose but requires
updating. |
|
| 790 |
Actually fining owners who let
their dogs do their messes and either don’t clean up their mess at all, or
leave it in someone's else's garden or on a tree. Anti-social behaviour will
only increase if it isn't nipped in the bud as soon as possible. Traffic
congestion is a problem, but that of making parking on the main road for more
than half an hour, I cant see the shop keepers being very happy. |
|
| 794 |
Main Street parking should be
abandoned as it is an accident waiting to happen. Also where people have
driveways they should be forced to park vehicles there instead of parking
ignorantly and annoying folk. Also caravans should not be allowed to park in driveways. |
|
| 795 |
No parking on Main street far
too narrow for three lanes. |
|
| 796 |
Better pavements for mobility
scooters. |
|
| 799 |
Road maintenance. Street
lighting. Recycling point. |
|
| 800 |
Dog fouling - all dogs should be
DNA tested and their poo identified and owners prosecuted. Bridge over dual
carriageway to station or underpass. |
|
| 801 |
Under age drinking. Noise at
night from drunks returning home. |
|
| 813 |
Policing of night time traffic.
The speed limit within the town centre and parts of the outlying housing is
maintained at a safer level due to town centre obstructions, crossing etc.
and traffic calming but other areas have cars racing and that is till dangerous
and unwelcome. |
|
| 818 |
Memorial in Ings Way needs
urgent attention. |
|
| 819 |
Repairing the road surfaces.
Gritting of dangerous roads. Provision of grit in the grit bins. Re-vamp
derelict land on the approach to Silsden. Protection of surrounding green
belt land. |
|
| 831 |
Just had a large pot of pennies
taken from front of house this week. |
|
| 832 |
Traffic speeds and control on
main road and Elliott Street. |
|
| 834 |
Tidying up entrance to Silsden
e.g. Keighley Road looks a mess with waste land and demolished site. |
|
| 835 |
Policing. |
|
| 836 |
Condition of some road surfaces. |
|
| 838 |
No parking on main street. 20
mph in centre of town. |
|
| 840 |
Parking needs to be banned along
Kirkgate. Allow free flow of traffic. No parking on pavements which is a
dangerous problem now. Pavements are for walkers and not card. Plenty of car
parks in Silsden. Dog dirt is also. |
|
| 841 |
Planning issues – buildings and
recreational. Improvement of canal towpath as a recreational facility.
Motorcycle trials riding provision of ground off Lightbank Lane and Holden
Lane – not suppression as exhibited by Bradford Council. Improvement of the watercourses
which flow through the town. They should be an asset not an embarrassment. |
|
| 848 |
Swimming pool and gym would be
nice like Keighley, Bingley, Shipley and Bradford. |
|
| 849 |
Restrict HGV in Silsden main
street should use Skipton bypass. |
|
| 850 |
Cleaning up the park which is a
disgrace. Silsden park should look to Sutton and Glusburn which are clean,
tidy, have excellent facilities and attract families. |
|
| 855 |
That’s a very comprehensive
list. |
|
| 857 |
Road bypass. |
|
| 863 |
Adopting and making up unmade
roads and pavements especially Spencer Avenue which is the main access road
for a large number of houses on the Dene's and Hunters Meadow. |
|
| 867 |
Dog fouling in all areas of the
town. |
|
| 877 |
Dog fouling is a huge problem,
especially outside both schools. We have to dodge the mess all the way on our
route to school. |
|
| 878 |
Road maintenance. |
|
| 879 |
Speed cameras or something to
restrict speed on the stretch of Bolton Road from The King public house
onwards towards Addingham, also a pelican crossing. |
|
| 880 |
Supporting local business,
increasing shops, restaurants in Silsden. |
|
| 882 |
New health centre. |
|
| 884 |
Information board in centre what
is happening in Silsden. |
|
| 885 |
All the above are high priority
they are the things that keep society getting together. |
|
| 887 |
Restrict large transport through
Silsden , most important. |
|
| 892 |
Too many takeaways with bright
signage, makes Silsden look tacky and also too may hairdressers. |
|
| 896 |
Make the car parks larger, don’t
charge for parking, so people who live near the town centre can actually park
outside their homes. |
|
| 897 |
Residential parking on Aire View
is a huge problem. |
|
| 900 |
Improving shop front signage
where cheap, badly designed and poorly manufactured signage ahs a
dramatically negative visual effect on the area and puts off local shoppers
and tourists alike. |
|
| 902 |
Keeping pavements clean from dog
poo. Owner’s responsibility, but it’s a particular problem in parts of
Silsden. Could resident report particular bad roads. Extra dog poo bins on
canal e.g. by bridge, Inn Bridge and by first canal bridge towards Riddlesden.
|
|
| 909 |
Dong bins, people still let
their dogs dirt and don’t pick it up which is very unpleasant. Most
responsible owners use a plastic bag but there is a minority of people who
leave the bag on the ground. |
|
| 913 |
More dog waste bins which are
emptied on a regular basis. |
|
| 926 |
No parking on Main Street except
blue badge holders. 3 tonne weight limit though Silsden, except for
access. |
|
| 931 |
Parking by the duck pond stops
the flow of traffic. Able-bodied people should use other parking areas. A few
parking bays by the duck pond for the disabled. Heavy goods vehicles should
be banned going though the village. Access only for deliveries. |
|
| 933 |
Stop parking in middle of
Silsden. |
|
| 935 |
Keeping all roads leading into
Silsden, and around Silsden, litter free would be my top priority e.g. Brown
Bank Lane, Hanber Lane, Skipton Road, Keighley Road, Holden Lane. |
|
| 936 |
Speeding is an issue on Skipton
Road increasingly traffic overall seems to be increasing so consideration for
pedestrians trying to cross busy roads and junctions especially in poor
visibility might be useful. Under street cleaning dog fouling is a big problem
in some roads. |
|
| 937 |
Community events. Promoting
village businesses. |
|
| 940 |
We should have are own Police
station and the 2 fire engines. Silsden people should have first offer of
rented housing. |
|
| 941 |
Dog warden - wages would be
earned in one day in park. Fines for litter dropping. No point employing
someone to pick up fine those who do it. |
|
| 954 |
A community centre where films
could be shown instead of going out of Silsden to Keighley or further away. |
|
| 958 |
Reduction of takeaways - how
many does a small town need. |
|
| 960 |
Teenagers congregate by the
cenotaph and the park area at night causing a nuisance - perhaps some kind of
meeting place (community centre could be provided for these youngsters). |
|
| 963 |
Stop cars parking on pavements
so people with prams etc. do not have to go on the road. Also trees and
branches growing outwards from gardens so people get caught when they are on
pavements. |
|
| 965 |
Too many immigrants wondering
around. |
|
| 969 |
Roads and edges up Swartha etc.
need edges cut back and drains kept clear. Lot of drains round Silsden are
full to the top, when it rains water just runs to the lowest points, then we
get flooding. |
|
| 972 |
Dog fouling. |
|
| 973 |
Returning to keeping streets
clean. The worst problem is dog fouling and we are dog owners. |
|
| 974 |
As far as massive development
I.e. housing it should be seriously thought out. As we are underdeveloped
I.e. school, sewage, congestion as it is. |
|
| 975 |
Public toilets should have
running water, currently this is not the case. |
|
| 980 |
We need more litter bins. |
|
| 982 |
More dog litter bins, especially
the more rural places just outside the town. |
|
| 987 |
Encouraging a greater variety of
local retailers for example, since moving to Silsden 14 years ago we have
lost a children's shoe shop, a men's clothes shop and most significantly our
Barclays Bank. |
|
| 988 |
Allotment provision. |
|
| 989 |
Dog fouling around Hothfield
school. I have a child their and most mornings the pavements around the
school is littered with it. |
|
| 994 |
Also a bridge over the dual
carriageway to get to the train station. Make the canal paths more suitable.
At the moment the canal path around Silsden is a muddy track, you walk
towards Riddlesden and it becomes a proper path. The path should be made the
same around Silsden and going into Skipton. Also a better car park for the
train. |
|
| 998 |
Improvements for elderly and
disabled access/and improvements/repair of roads/lanes/paths deemed to be
un-adopted. Out of date and passing the problem thinking. |
|
| 999 |
Decent public toilets with baby
changing facilities. |
|
| 1002 |
Provision of dog waste bins.
Preservation of green spaces. |
|
| 1005 |
Keeping streets around Silsden
from people with Dogs fouling. It is getting really bad should be cameras put
up now and again to catch these people with there dogs. |
|
| 1006 |
Good access to health care.
Health centre, Airedale Hospital. More dental facilities. |
|
| 1017 |
Being a resident of St Johns
Close, the back of my property leads on to Mitchells Lane, a deplorable state
of humps, craters, patched macadam here and there. No sense at all in the way
maintenance has been carried out, the elderly people who frequent this lane
to walk with safety find it very daunting, it doesn't give residents any
encouragement to use the lane. |
|
| 1019 |
Highest priority - keeping the
library opening hours. |
|
| 1027 |
Toilets in park. |
|
| 1028 |
Public swimming baths. |
|
| 1036 |
Big vans parking bottom of
Tifton Street in New Road and dustmen cannot get up to empty bins. YL03 YLX
Fiat. |
|
| 1042 |
Bin for dog poo at Craven Drive
snicket. Dog dirt picked up, put in a bad then left on the road. |
|
| 1060 |
A proper policeman living in the
town with overall say how the town is policed. |
|
| 1061 |
Regular road resurfacing
including non-adopted roads e.g. Spencer Ave. Parts of this road are
accidents waiting to happen with cracked depressions anything up to 6' deep
in parts. Wouldn't cost a fortune to resurface with Tarmac where required
instead of having opposing traffic negotiating a slalom route to avoid these
holes. |
|
| 1067 |
Silsden shops in general need a
facelift. A general tidy up of cans, food trays etc organised by schools
would improve the appearance in general. Very important - clamp down (police
presence) on disturbant screams, shouts, music late at night up until 2am. |
|
| 1073 |
Anything that keeps people safe. |
|
| 1076 |
Visible police patrol or
community police. |
|
| 1078 |
Road maintenance. |
|
| 1079 |
It's time parking on the main
street was prohibited as lorries and buses sometimes mount the pavements to
get through the village. Also the congestion this causes makes for a very
unpleasant walk down the high street, this is why so many shops are closing
down. |
|
| 1080 |
Improving the doctors surgery
and facilities. They deserve a better environment to work in. |
|
| 1084 |
Pot holes in roads and dangerous
roads such as Spencer Ave highly lethal. |
|
| 1091 |
Repairing roads/pavements. |
|
| 1093 |
More waste bins provided for
'doggy' waste. This would help encourage dog owners to be more responsible
and help to keep the streets clean. |
|
| 1094 |
Enforcement of dog fouling laws
in streets and other public places. Greater visibility of policing services.
Stop erosion of public services (Police, Fire). Improved street lighting in
residential areas. |
|
| 1095 |
Prevent any further 'Asian'
takeaways! The signage at the corner by 'Punch' i.e. purple garlic block is
completely out of character. This cheapens the village. Would it be allowed
in Addingham? |
|
| 1098 |
See below. |
|
| 1101 |
Improving the towpath in both
directions. It's a wonderful facility but out of bounds for much of the
winter because of very bad walking conditions and dangerous in parts. It
should be made more available to disabled, what pleasure it would add to
their life. Seats would provide a lovely place to sit and stare. |
